I’m starting to feel a little impatient with my job. I really enjoyed it at first, but now it feels like I’m going through the same motions every day and nothing is building up to anything – and I’m a very goal oriented person. I realized that I need to get more proactive about my creative projects at home or else I’ll go insane. But I didn’t know what exactly to do…
Last night Mike had a brilliant questions for me: what was your favorite assignment in college?
I thought and thought and then remembered an assignment which I spent hours on even though it was only supposed to take 2 or 3 hours. I put everything else on hold as I finished this assignment. It was a graphic novel for my memoirs class. When I was done, not only did my entire class flip over it, I was really proud of it. It was even put in the first edition of our short-lived college newspaper (art students weren’t really into college newspapers).
And so, I realized something I want to start spending my energy on: graphic novels. And since I was first introduced to it through an assignment I’m giving myself a new assignment. I will post my first installment next week on the HeSo Project! Stay tuned!!!

Catching up on your blog going backwards…so you DID do the graphic memoir all yourself. You are very talented. Now I have to think about whether I have a favorite assignment.
I am probably reading these out of order, but so far very interesting… you seem so very motivated. I will pass your blog on to fellow new yorkers, I have relocated to VA now, former Jersey girl. I am loving your blogs though!!
Thank you so much! It means a lot to me that you like my blog enough to spread the word!
